Lyrics
[verse 1]
Something's scratching at the window
Something breathing in the hall
I can feel it getting closer
Every time the shadows crawl
It whispers underneath my pillow
Calls my name but sounds like me
Trying to pull me through the darkness
To a place I shouldn't see
[pre-chorus]
But above my head, the silver threads
Are trembling in the blue
Every nightmare that gets closer
Has to make it through
[chorus]
But the Dreamcatcher won't let it in
Won't let the darkness take my skin
It catches every wicked thing
That tries to crawl inside my dreams
Let the shadows scream outside
Let the monsters scratch and bite
They can't cross that circle of light-
The Dreamcatcher guards me tonight
[verse 2]
Now the walls begin to be breathing
And the ceiling starts to bend
There're a thousand eyes beneath me
And they're waiting for the end
Something reaches from the closet
With a hand made out of smoke
It says, "You'll never wake without me,"
Then the dream begins to choke
[pre-chorus]
But the feathers start to dancing
And the web begins to glow
Every thread becomes a warning:
You are not allowed to cross
[chorus]
But the Dreamcatcher won't let it in
Won't let the darkness take my skin
It catches every wicked thing
That tries to crawl inside my dreams
Let the shadows scream outside
Let the monsters scratch and bite
They can't cross that circle of light-
The Dreamcatcher guards me tonight
[bridge]
Caught in the web
The nightmare cries
Twisting its fingers
Into the night
It wanted my fear
It wanted my soul
But every strand
Won't let it go
And when it pulls
The whole room shakes
But something stronger
Keeps me awake
I hear a voice
Above the din:
"You're safe here. It can't get in."
[final chorus]
The Dreamcatcher won't let it in
Won't let the darkness take my skin
It catches every wicked thing
Before it reaches me
Let the shadows scream outside
Let the nightmare lose its fight
Every thread is burning bright-
The Dreamcatcher guards me tonight
[outro]
Morning comes through the window
And the shadows disappear
The web is still above my pillow
But the nightmare isn't here
Something bad came for my dreaming
Something dark came hunting me-
But the Dreamcatcher caught the nightmare
Before it could become my reality
