Lyrics
[Intro] House lights low, velvet hush in the air
Eyes on the stage, every heart stopped there
Whispers of wonder from the shadows rise
Word on the street, she’s the talk of the times
[Verse 1] Every ticket taken, every seat filled tight
From miles and miles they rolled in tonight
Gold curtain shimmers with the promise of grace
No one’s breathing easy, not a single straight face
Magic in waiting, tension wrapped tight
Just one silhouette stands behind the light
The whole town leans forward, barely a sound
All hopes are hanging on the next sight found
(SHHHHhhhhh!!!! Here she comes....)
[Chorus] Matilda the dancer with her one good arm
Oh she spins, she slides, brings all the charm
doowoo woo Matilda, show what you can do
doowoo woo Matilda, moving through
[Post-Chorus] Oooh doo woo woo
Oooh doo woo woo
[Verse 2] She climbs the porch rail, summersaults down
Barefoot fire flying through this old town
Heartbeat steady, never missing a cue
every move a promise, she’ll always break through
Magic in waiting, tension wrapped tight
Just one silhouette stands behind the light
The whole town leans forward, barely a sound
All hopes are hanging on the next sight found
[Pre-Chorus] Nobody thought she’d go this far
Nobody saw that lightning in her star
[Chorus] Matilda the dancer with her one good arm
Oh she spins, she slides, brings all the charm
doowoo woo Matilda, show what you can do
doowoo woo Matilda, moving through
One good arm! (Matilda)
One good arm! (Matilda)
One good arm! (Matilda)
Watch her go! (go go go go go)
Matilda! Matilda!
One good arm!
Matilda! Matilda!
Watch her go!
Matilda!
Matilda!
Maaaaaaatil..... [End]
