Lyrics
[Intro]
Oh-oh
Yeah yeah
(Moon and back)
Ooh
[Verse 1]
Friday came in swinging like a brass horn
I clocked out at five with my tie undone
Told the boss I'm leaving for a better view
Grabbed my coat and vanished
Like a rocket through the blue
[Pre-Chorus]
So we drove
Past the signs
Past the ordinary lines
And the road just disappeared
[Chorus]
Friday went to the moon and back
(Moon and back)
Friday went to the moon and back
Spinning off the track
Never coming back to Monday
[Post-Chorus]
Na na na
Fly away
Na na na
Fly away
[Verse 2]
We hit the diner where the neon hums a jazz
A saxophone was crying and I raised a glass
The waitress said you dreamers always leave too soon
I said tonight we're flying
Straight on past the moon
[Pre-Chorus]
So we ran
Through the town
Turned the whole horizon round
And the stars all leaned in close
[Chorus]
Friday went to the moon and back
(Moon and back)
Friday went to the moon and back
Spinning off the track
Never coming back to Monday
[Post-Chorus]
Na na na
Fly away
Na na na
Fly away
[Bridge]
Up up up we climbed
Burning through the black
Laughing at the fall
Coming down the other side
Different people
Different sky
[Guitar Solo]
[Chorus]
Friday went to the moon and back
(Moon and back)
Friday went to the moon and back
Spinning off the track
Never coming back to Monday
[Post-Chorus]
Na na na
Fly away
Na na na
Fly away
(Fly away)
(Fly away)
