Lyrics
[Instrumental Intro]
[Verse 1]
Found the formula at midnight
Scratched it on the wall
Every digit burning colder
Every answer makes me small
You were the variable
I could never solve
Kept dividing all my hours
Till there was nothing left to call
[Chorus]
This is the Darkwave Law
The candle gives what the darkness takes
This is the Darkwave Law
Distance squared and the light breaks
[Verse 2]
Inverse proportion
Watch the radiance fall
Two steps back and you lose me
Four steps back and lose it all
Now the devil loves me
Says my name with such care
He read my calculations
And he signed me somewhere
[Chorus]
This is the Darkwave Law
The candle gives what the darkness takes
This is the Darkwave Law
Distance squared and the light breaks
[Instrumental Break]
[Chorus]
This is the Darkwave Law
Everything I touch goes dim
This is the Darkwave Law
Come closer now and let me in
[Outro]
Midnight formula
Inverse proportion
He loves me he loves me not
