Lyrics
[Instrumental Intro]
[Verse 1]
Rolled out of town before the sun could catch me
Two hundred miles of highway and a tank half empty
I left a note on the counter said don't you come around
Took the long way past the grain silos
Past the church where we said vows
[Pre-Chorus]
And the radio keeps cutting out
I keep my foot down anyhow
[Chorus]
I'm driving toward a brand new kind of love
Windows down I'm calling out your name
Driving toward a brand new kind of love
Nothing here is gonna feel the same
Every mile I put behind me
Is a mile I finally set free
I'm driving toward a brand new kind of love
And it's waiting there for me
[Post-Chorus]
Oh-oh oh-oh
Waiting there for me
Oh-oh oh-oh
Waiting there for me
[Verse 2]
Stopped at a diner outside Amarillo
Waitress poured my coffee asked me where I'm bound
I said somewhere I ain't been yet
Somewhere love ain't let me down
She just smiled and topped me off
Said honey that's the only road in town
[Pre-Chorus]
The map is crumpled in my hand
But I don't need to understand
[Chorus]
I'm driving toward a brand new kind of love
Windows down I'm calling out your name
Driving toward a brand new kind of love
Nothing here is gonna feel the same
Every mile I put behind me
Is a mile I finally set free
I'm driving toward a brand new kind of love
And it's waiting there for me
[Post-Chorus]
Oh-oh oh-oh
Waiting there for me
Oh-oh oh-oh
Waiting there for me
[Bridge]
Maybe love ain't a place
Maybe love is a road
Maybe love ain't a face
Maybe love is letting go
Maybe love is letting go
[Breakdown]
Let it go
Let it go
Watch it go
Watch it go
[Chorus]
I'm driving toward a brand new kind of love
Windows down I'm calling out your name
Driving toward a brand new kind of love
Nothing here is gonna feel the same
Every mile I put behind me
Is a mile I finally set free
I'm driving toward a brand new kind of love
And it's waiting there for me
[Post-Chorus]
Oh-oh oh-oh
Waiting there for me
Oh-oh oh-oh
Waiting there for me
[Outro]
Mm-hmm
Waiting there for me
