Lyrics
[INTRO] Yeah…
Welcome back to the Pokémon League respectfully
Attempt number…
honestly we stopped counting emotionally
[VERSE 1] Every year I tell myself:
> “This the run.”
Then one Elite Four member turn my whole confidence numb
Walk in talking legendary initially
Walk out financially ruined and spiritually crispy
Whole lobby know me personally
Nurse Joy greet me like family unfortunately
I got:
six badges worth of trauma
one overleveled starter
and commitment issues with strategy honestly
Spent my whole childhood chasing Champion dreams
Now I’m stress-eating Full Restores behind the vending machines
My rival already successful professionally
Meanwhile I’m still battling old men competitively
And somehow…
I keep coming back though
That’s either determination or emotional collapse bro
[HOOK] Elite Four Dropout
Still outside grinding
Whole life built around bad timing and determination
Elite Four Dropout
Confidence artificial
But if I lose again tonight I’m blaming critical hits officially
I got doubt
I got pride
I got Pokémon still standing by my side
Elite Four Dropout
That’s the legacy
Almost made it repeatedly
[VERSE 2] Every loss started sounding philosophical
Like:
> “Maybe the real Champion was personal growth.”
Brother respectfully I wanted the trophy though
Now I’m older and the dream feel different mentally
Less “be the greatest” more “please prove something to me.”
My team exhausted but loyal spiritually
We survived caves, debt, emotional instability
I done blacked out during gym battles accidentally
Forgot type matchups under pressure repeatedly
Still showed up next morning though
That’s important
Even when the odds looked financially and emotionally unfortunate
And maybe I ain’t Champion material statistically
But quitting now would hurt my pride specifically
So I keep training
Keep battling
Keep losing dramatically
Then coming back like:
> “Nah hold on I almost had it actually.”
[HOOK] Elite Four Dropout
Still chasing greatness
Even if my strategy built on stress and desperation
Elite Four Dropout
Whole crowd doubting
Meanwhile my starter Pokémon still believe somehow weirdly
I got fear
I got scars
I got one surviving Pokémon carrying hard
Elite Four Dropout
Still not done
Refusing to quit till the credits finally run
[VERSE 3] At this point the League staff know me by name
Security saw me walk in and just nodded like:
> “Back again.”
Yeah unfortunately
I got motivational speeches memorized accidentally
Every Elite Four room smell like stress and bad decisions spiritually
Some trainers lose once and move on gracefully
I turned failure into a personality basically
Cause every time I get close I remember that feeling
The crowd
The music
The possibility healing
Like maybe this broken strategy finally work somehow
Maybe this underleveled team really figured it out
And honestly?
That hope dangerous mentally
But it’s also the only reason I’m still here competitively
So if I lose tonight cool
I’ll be devastated dramatically
Then probably back next week acting inspirational accidentally
[OUTRO — Spoken] You know what’s funny ? I used to think becoming Champion would prove I mattered somehow
Now?
I think the journey mattered more than winning ever did
Still want that title though respectfully
But every time I walk back into the League…
a small part of me still thinks:
> “Nah this could be the run.”
And honestly?
That feeling probably why I never stopped training in the first place.
