Lyrics
Bob the Owlbear
Verse 1 Down in the swamp where the black flies hum,
Past crooked trees where the dead things come,
There lies old Bob in the muck and the mire,
An owlbear head that no one would disire.
Chorus
Oh, Bob! Poor Bob! In the bog so deep,
Scaring the frogs from their muddy sleep.
Once he was fierce with claw and roar,
Now he smells like fish and a goblin's floor!
Verse 2 A druid hauled him from a mountain trail,
Swore he'd sell Bob for a stack of ale.
But merchants gagged and the horses fled,
"Keep your cursed trophy!" the townsfolk said.
Chorus
Oh, Bob! Poor Bob! In the bog so deep,
Scaring the frogs from their muddy sleep.
Once he was king of the forest shade,
Now he's a nest where the swamp rats raid!
Verse 3 The flies sing hymns round his furry crown,
The moss grows thick where his ears droop down.
A turtle lives in his empty jaw,
And the lizardfolk call him "Grandpa Maw."
Bridge
Some say at night when the moon burns green,
Bob still growls from the reeds unseen.
Though it might just be gas from the rotting peat,
Or a drunkard face-first in the marshy's heat.
Final Chorus
Oh, Bob! Sweet Bob! In the bog you'll stay,
Getting a little more rotten every day.
Raise your mugs and give one cheer,
For the finest dead owlbear head this year!
Outro
So if you wander where the marsh lights gleam,
And catch a whiff like a kobold's dream,
Tip your hat and be on your way—
Bob's still rotting there today! 🍺🐻🦉
