Lyrics
The Night of Sul'na Crossing
Once every four hundred days,
the silver moon Sul'na slides
across the face of golden Vael.
On Vol'Nova, nobody sleeps that night.
The drummers of the Vo'Kaani
walk down from the crystal hills,
carrying drums made from the shells
of sky-rays that fell last season.
No one owns a rhythm here.
Each family keeps a single beat,
passed down from mother to child.
When all the families meet on the plain,
the beats lock together
and the ground begins to answer.
The priestesses say the moons can hear it,
that Sul'na lingers a little longer
when the drums are loud enough.
Nobody on Vol'Nova has ever proven this.
Nobody has ever dared to play quietly.
