Lyrics
[Intro] Oh oh
Yeah yeah
[Chorus] Sun sinks low into the asphalt
Moving till the muscles go numb
Checking on the old and the young
Feeling life in every breath we take
Life is the evening run
Life is the evening run
[Drop] Running numb
Running numb
[Verse 1] Hard lungs
Heart pounding fast and heavy
The pavement tastes like iron and sweat
Sidewalks blur
I count the streetlamps one by one
One by one
One by one
[Pre-Chorus] Sky turning purple and bruised
Losing my shadow in the dark
Leaving my worry behind me
Ready for the heavy lift
[Chorus] Sun sinks low into the asphalt
Moving till the muscles go numb
Checking on the old and the young
Feeling life in every breath we take
Life is the evening run
Life is the evening run
[Drop] Running numb
Running numb
[Verse 2] Passing the porches
Passing the parks and the playgrounds
A quick nod to the gray-haired man
Sweat stings
I push through the heavy haze
Keep it steady
Keep it honest
[Pre-Chorus] Sky turning purple and bruised
Losing my shadow in the dark
Leaving my worry behind me
Ready for the heavy lift
[Chorus] Sun sinks low into the asphalt
Moving till the muscles go numb
Checking on the old and the young
Feeling life in every breath we take
Life is the evening run
Life is the evening run
[Drop] Running numb
Running numb
Running numb
Running numb
